Growing Foxtail Palms in Largo
Largo is USDA Zone 10a, sharing the mild peninsula climate of St. Petersburg and Clearwater thanks to the Gulf on one side and Tampa Bay on the other. Frost is rare, though the middle of the county away from either shore can see a cold night in a hard winter, so tender tropicals do best with a little shelter. Lots toward Indian Rocks Beach and the Intracoastal need salt-tolerant selections.
