Three Bids, Three Different Projects
Say you have a picture with a raised garden bed in it. How tall is that bed? Block and stucco, timber, stacked stone? How long is it, and what goes in it at what size? Nobody knows, including the company pricing it on Tuesday.
So each company prices the version they pictured. The one that wants to be cheapest just makes the bed smaller, drops the lighting, thins the plant count. Their number wins, and it looks like they beat everybody on price. They did not. They bid a smaller project, and the difference shows up as add-ons once the crew is already in your yard.
A measured design ends that. Real dimensions, real plant counts, real materials, so every bid you collect is for the same yard.
It also means you can build in phases. Design the whole thing, install it in the order your budget allows, and nothing gets torn out later to make room for the next piece.

3D Design Questions
What does the 3D design cost?
A design starts at $400 for a standard residential property, and the entire fee comes off your first invoice when you build it with us. Bigger properties and bigger scopes price above that, and you get the number before any drawing starts. A single scope like a hedge line, a palm package, sod or mulch does not need a design at all, that written quote is free.
Why not just price my project off the photos I have?
Because a photo has no dimensions, no material selections and no plant sizes, so any number off it is a guess about a project we are picturing in our heads. The next company guesses differently, and the bids you are comparing were never for the same job. Once the yard is measured and drawn, every bid covers the same scope and the prices actually mean something.
Can I build it in phases?
Yes, and most people do. Design the whole yard, then install it in the order your budget allows: beds, palms and irrigation now, pavers and outdoor living later, lighting after that. Every phase is drawn as part of one finished plan, so nothing gets torn out later to make room for the next piece.
Do I have to buy the plants from you?
No. Every plant on this site can be delivered to your driveway for you to plant yourself, or delivered and planted by our crew. If Blue Collar Q installs the design, the material comes from Florida Palm and Plant Co. so we can stand behind every palm, hedge and tropical in the plan as Florida Grade #1 stock.
How long does a design take?
Most 3D designs come back within about a week of your request. Bigger full-yard projects can take a little longer while we confirm plant sizes and availability. Once you approve the design and price, we schedule delivery or delivery and install.
