Frost shows up several times most winters and a hard freeze is possible in a cold year, so cold-hardy palms like Queen, Sylvester, Pindo and Mule and hedges like Podocarpus and Viburnum are the right foundation. With no salt to worry about, Magnolia, Crape Myrtle and Live Oak all do well here.
